Message for Christmas

Dear brothers and sisters,
God loved humanity so much that he gave his Beloved Son, Jesus. He came to humanity more than 2,000 years ago. He brought salvation and happiness to each person. When he was on earth, Jesus visited many people, many families. He cared for and healed the sick. He taught and was kind to the poor. He converted many sinners. He showed love to everyone.
In this spirit, this year, the universal Church will open the Holy Year on Christmas Eve with the theme "Pilgrims of Hope" to reaffirm to humanity, to us, that only God is the source of true happiness. Only God is the One in whom we put all our trust because He can save and free us from sin, from all suffering. The Church calls us to be ready to set out with Jesus on this earthly pilgrimage towards Jerusalem, the heavenly city, in our hope and trust. The Bethlehem cave is a sign of simplicity and humility that we can rely on as a support, and imitate, to abandon all the cumbersome things that hinder our journey to follow Jesus and become like him.
The Christmas season is an opportunity for all of us to rediscover the message of God's saving love. May each individual and each family boldly set out with the Savior to discover God's immense love for us. May Emmanuel always accompany and be the guiding light for us on our journey of faith. Wishing everyone in our parish a holy Advent and a Christmas filled with the grace and joy of Emmanuel!
