Church Restoration

Church restoration will take place
August 25, 2025 to November 30, 2025.

The usual entrances will be maintained, however, please be aware of scaffolding and work areas.
Parking around the church during the week may be limited.

Visiting the Shrine

Welcome to the St Kateri Tekakwitha Shrine, located at the St Francis Xavier Mission, Mohawk Territory of Kahnawa:ke. We are open year-round for masses, pilgrimages, tours and other events. 

Kateri Tekakwitha was declared Saint on October 21, 2012

MUSEUM
The original rectory of 1720 once housed a parlor, offices and priests' chambers. This area now houses a museum, exhibiting many gifts from France and historic artifacts of Indigenous, Canadian and European heritage, dating back to the 17th century.
The museum is open Monday to Thursday, 9:00 am to 3:00 pm.
ST. KATERI GIFT SHOP
The St. Kateri Gift Shop was once used as a dressing area for priests and altar services. Visit the quaint little shop after your visit and find St. Kateri Tekakwitha medals and prayer cards, prayer beads, Indigenous art and craftwork, books, DVDs, t-shirts, mugs, tote bags and much more!
Open Monday to Thursday, 9:00 am to 3:00 pm.

Group tours may be booked on Fridays.
